The Nurse Practitioner (NP) in the Endoscopy and Surgical Central Intake is an autonomous, advanced practice
nurse who provides comprehensive, collaborative care to a defined patient population
The NP will provide central coordination including triage and consultation in the clinical practice area of
gastroenterogy and general surgery. The NP will be the patient advocate and provide care in a highly supportive and

JOB SUMMARY:
Under the general direction of Director, Support Services, the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Distribution (MSSD)
is responsible for leading the Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing and Distribution functions at Thunder Bay Regional
Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act as well as other
applicable legislation and Hospital policies.
The MSSD manages the procurement, contracting and distribution processes for the organization regarding their
supplies, services, capital construction & equipment ‑ from planning through to contract management and
distribution. The MSSD fosters a positive working relationship with the hospitals clients, vendors, external
stakeholders and suppliers. Further, the MSSD will maintain a strong working relationship with the Group
Purchasing Organizations (GPO), Shared Services Organizations (SSO), Government of Ontario i.e. Ministry
procurement organizations and other affiliate organizations to support collaboration and consolidate volumes so as to
maximize value.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Must provide patient care or services in a manner that is consistent with TBRHSC mission, vision, values and

Purchasing, Sourcing and Distribution Oversight
* Direct and oversee the day‑to‑day Sourcing and Distribution operations for TBRHSC in compliance with Policy,
Procedures, BPS, and other relevant legislations
* Provide strategic leadership for contract development, maintenance of contract registries and the standardization of
sourcing initiatives
* Manage and monitor all steps for the RFX process including (but not limited to): industry related research, RFX
development, RFX Postings, addendum issuing, site visits, template development, evaluation committees,
negotiating, contracting, awarding, crafting proponent letters and debriefings‑for supplies, services and capital
equipment
* Plans, Directs and coordinates storage (internal and external warehouses), receipt, inventory and distribution of
material, supplies, and equipment.
* Develops, implements and administers a coordinated supply support system that operates efficiently and meets
patient and customer needs
* Lead and represent the Purchasing and Material Distribution departments at various committees and working
groups ie Product Evaluation Committee (PEC) meetings
* Analyzing market opportunities and vendor qualifications to support decision making and planning
* Assess and advise on new RFX opportunities or needs
* Working closely with all internal and external groups when organizing and conducting trials or planning and
implementing projects
* Liaises with GPOs &SSO as required for participation in collaborative initiatives and ongoing compliance
Contract & Vendor Performance Management
* Manage the vendor performance reviews through the Contact Administrator; conduct other reviews and contract
management with key stakeholders and Suppliers as required
* Oversee TBRHSC participation and compliance in all contracts (local, SSO, and GPO)
Governance
* Understanding and ensuring organizational compliance with the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Procurement
Directives, Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA), Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA),
Internal Trade Agreement, policies/procedures at TBRHSC/SJCG, and Industry "leading practices."
* Executes the implementation of policies, operating plans, and processes affecting quality improvement, risks,
regulatory compliance, satisfaction and safety
* Identifies/ responds to potential risk exposures, resolving situations as appropriate
* Responsible for the maintenance of existing and the creation of new policy and procedure, as required
* Ensures accurate and complete document retention in accordance with organizational policy
* Must provide leadership and services in a manner that is consistent with the mission, vision and values of the
organization.
Reporting & Data Management
* Reporting, tracking and maintaining internal documents to identify opportunities, track project timelines and
actualize cost impacts
* Establish ongoing annual work plan for project schedule
* Ensure item master reflects current contract, pricing and vendor information
Staffing
* Conduct monthly staff meetings
* Coordinate department resources in an efficient, patient focused manner
* Ensures human resource allocation through recruitment, selection, scheduling, training, productivity monitoring,
discipline, management of absenteeism and performance management at the staff level
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
* University Degree in business or management studies or equivalent work and relevant leadership experience
* C.P.P. or SCMP designation or other applicable professional designation
* 3 to 5 years of Purchasing/Sourcing experience at a management level
Skills/Abilities:
* Excellent knowledge of tendering and contract law; preferably in the broader public sector
* Able to maintain and develop relationships with external partners and vendors
* Strong Knowledge of MS Office, business and statistical software
* Familiar with online RFX posting sites (e.g. Merx, Bonfire, Biddingo)
* Experience with mediation/negotiation/facilitation and debriefing skills

facilitating interprofessional care with the CCDC team. The NP works within the program leadership team that

Community Commitment Program for Nurses
TBRHSC is an approved participant in the Community Commitment Program for Nurses (CCPN) offered through Health Force Ontario. The CCPN provides a $25,000 incentive grant to eligible nurses in exchange for a 24‑month commitment to an eligible employer.
Nurses may also be eligible for two new Northern incentives for nurses who make a two‑year commitment to an eligible employer in Northern Ontario. These are:
* A Northern Top‑Up Grant of $10,000, paid in $5,000 instalments after four (4) and eight (8) months of employment with an eligible employer; and
* A Northern Relocation Grant of $10,000, paid in $5,000 instalments upon confirmation that an eligible nurse has started employment and after four (4) months of employment with an eligible employer.
Program Eligibility:
* Not have been employed as a nurse in Ontario in the six months prior to being hired;
* Hold a Certificate of Registration in good standing from the College of Nurses of Ontario;

Team is an opportunity for Registered Practical Nurses to acquire and maintain competencies in the Women &
Children's Program which includes Paediatrics and Maternal Newborn. Women & Children's Resource Team Nurses
are scheduled in accordance with the SEIU collective agreement.
Applicants must have the following qualification:
* Current unrestricted registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario
* Current certification in BCLS
* Recent experience in Maternity, Perinatal, Neonatal or Paediatric nursing with experience in breastfeeding support
and the care of complex patient populations, including postoperative surgical patients
* Ability to use the Nursing Process (assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation) in conjunction with her/his
basic and ongoing knowledge to arrive at individualized care planning and delivery
* Collaborates with Registered Nurse's (RN) when patients assigned to the RPN become unstable or have outcomes
that are not as expected.
* Identify and recognize abnormal or unexpected patient responses and take appropriate action
* Ability to simultaneously manage multiple nursing interventions

The kinesiologist has a direct reporting relationship to the Manager of the Transitional Care Unit‑(TCU) with a matrix
reporting relationship for kinesiology practice to the Director, Health Professions and Collaborative Practice. The
kinesiologist will work in partnership with the interprofessional team to develop the plan of care. The kinesiologist is
responsible for conducting initial and ongoing physical activity assessments as well as organizing, planning,
coordinating, delivering and supervising care plans. The kinesiologist will also provide individual and group education
for the patient.
As a member of the interprofessional team the kinesiologist will actively participate in team rounds.
The TCU kinesiologist will perform all duties of a kinesiologist, following the scope of practice defined by the College
of Kinesiologists of Ontario.
