Reporting to the Network Operations Manager, the Systems Specialist works closely with other IT/IS staff,

department managers, and physicians to ensure proper operation of server infrastructure/applications including

clinical systems, corporate email, financial applications and other business continuity systems and applications. The

focus of this position is technical as it pertains to high availability (HA) virtualized servers in a VMware environment,

storage area networks (SAN), IP routing and Internetworks. The System Specialist must work closely with other

Systems Specialists and  team members.  This role is responsible for the day‑to‑day Systems/infrastructure level

support administration and planning related to HIS/Clinical Systems.

 

Employment Requirements:

* University degree in the field of computer science and\or related field with 5 years related work experience.

* Must be proficient in Windows 2012, VMware vSphere 5.x and above, Cisco routing.

* Strong understanding of HP Blade Servers and Storage systems such as the 3PAR product line.

* Strong technical knowledge of network and PC operating systems, Windows 2012.

* Hands‑on experience installing Citrix, Cisco AnyConnect, Bomgar and other secure remote access clients.

* Strong technical knowledge of current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including IP networks, Cisco

switches and routers, firewalls.

* Extensive server farm, print servers and application support experience.

* Excellent understanding of the organization's goals and objectives.

* In‑depth knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

* Strong understanding of project management principles.

* Strong leadership skills.

* Excellent written and oral communication skills.

* Excellent interpersonal skills.

* Ability to conduct and direct research into Meditech, PACS, email and other IT system related issues and products

as required.

* Ability to present ideas in business‑friendly and user‑friendly language.

* Ability to perform general mathematical calculations for the purpose of creating business cases and budgets.

* Highly self‑motivated and directed.

* Keen attention to detail.

* Proven analytical, evaluative, and problem‑solving abilities.

* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment.

* Exceptional customer service orientation.

* Extensive experience working in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment.

 

 

Salary Range:  $39.808 to 46.832
