1 ‑ Full Time ‑ Coordinator
Housekeeping, Laundry/Linen and Portering
Under the direction of the Manager - Housekeeping, the Coordinator - Housekeeping, Laundry/Linen and Portering is responsible for organizing, planning, and coordinating the day to day and short range operations for the Housekeeping, Laundry/ Linen and Portering departments – in accordance with regulations and guidelines, with a particular focus on staffing, resource allocation, data management, risk mitigation, and quality of service for TBRHSC.
Employment Requirements:
Education:
* A degree or diploma in a related program, or minimum Grade 12 education with 6‑8 years of healthcare or related
supervisory experience as outline below are required
Experience
* At least 4‑5 years previous experience in Environmental Services is required
* At least 2‑3 years experience working in a leadership/supervisory role is required
Skills:
* Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient and Family Centred Care
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with managers, staff, and external customers
* Must possess superior interpersonal skills, problem solving skills, and demonstrated ability to function as a
collaborative team member
* Highly motivated critical thinker
* Good judgement with a demonstrated ability to effectively manage conflict situations or demanding circumstances
* Professionalism ‑ holds self accountable, and reflects on/learns from own errors
* Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Groupwise and Microsoft
* Excellent organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills are essential – with an ability to
effectively develop concise departmental policies/procedures that align with applicable standards and regulations.
* Honest and Trustworthy, with the ability to maintain confidentiality at all times – while maintaining respectful
communications and consistency with all staff.
* Ability to work independently, under time constraints, and with multiple priorities/deadlines
* Strong leadership skills with a positive and motivating demeanor to assist in building a team environment where
open conversation is supported and valued
Knowledge:
* Knowledge and competency with Infection Control ‑ including familiarity with cleaning practices and infection control
standards as it relates to all areas of Environmental services.
* Knowledge of Employment Standards Act (ESA) and Labour Management – including familiarity with terms of
applicable collective agreements
* Competent and experienced in applicable standards and regulations for Waste Management – including specialized
waste equipment operation/safety, and hazardous waste regulations.
* Knowledge and competency with the Occupational Health & Safety Act – including a thorough understanding of
equipment safety and operating standards, as well as training requirements.
* Ability to utilize and effectively navigate specialized programs (ie. Teletracking; Connexall; Virtuo) to complete
regular analysis of departmental statistics to assist in identifying areas of concern and opportunities for
improvements/efficiencies
In addition to the above, preference will be given to candidates with:
* Workplace Safety North – Competent Supervisor Certification
* Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification
* HHA Environmental Services Housekeeping Methodology Certification
* HHA Environmental Services Laundry & Linen Technology Certification
* HHA Infection Control for Environmental Services Managers & Supervisors Certification

Salary Range: $39.808 to 46.832
