2 ‑ Temporary Part Time (.5) ‑ Coordinator Nursing Units
Nursing Resource Team
It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event
you are successful.
Reporting to the Manager of the Nursing Resource Team the Coordinator supports and provides clinical leadership
for the inpatient medical and surgical unit staff. The Coordinator is responsible for working with the program/service
leadership team to provide clinical and professional leadership to facilitate a safe and effective work environment,
that embraces both efficiency and professional accountability amongst all staff members primarily on evenings,
nights and weekends. The Coordinator will work in collaboration with the Administrative Coordinator, to monitor and
support the quality of patient care and professional standards of practice.
The Coordinator bases their decisions on the Mission, Vision, and Values of Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences
Centre (The Hospital), the principles of Patient and Family Centered Care, Interprofessional Collaboration,
continuous quality improvement, the College of Nurses of Ontario and Canadian Nurses Association Standards of
Practice, and The Hospitals policies, procedures and standards.
Qualifications:
* Unencumbered registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
* Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing – preferred
* Minimum of 5 years of acute care nursing experience working as a RN or RPN
* Excellent clinical skills and competencies
* Previous experience teaching, working with learners and/or preceptoring
* Previous experience as Clinical Instructor or placement supervisor
* Demonstrated leadership, change management, and problem‑solving skill
* CNA certification preferred
* Commitment to excellence with demonstrated leadership qualities and clinical credibility.
* Knowledge of practice standards and guiding principles to foster professional practice and accountability.
* Demonstrates strong organizational skills in order to monitor and address the needs of a large group of staff.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Strong computer skills, Word Processing, Excel
Salary Range: $53.733 to 62.864
