                                                  1 ‑ Temporary Part Time (.5) ‑ Indigenous Liaison

                                                              Child/Adolescent Mental Health Unit

 

 

 

 

 

 

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event

you are successful.

 

 

 

 

Reporting to the Coordinator of Child/Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHU), the Indigenous Liaison Worker

will participate as a member of the CAMHU Team. They will work with, primarily, aboriginal patients and families,

acting as a linkage among the health care team, patients, families and community resources in Thunder Bay and

Region.

 

The successful applicants will possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:

*  Diploma in a Human Services Field (Social Service Worker, Child & Youth Worker, Indigenous Family Child &

Service Program, Mental Health & Addictions Worker etc.) and/or experience in a related field

*  Ability to bring forth culturally sensitive perspectives to health care planning, specifically related to First Nations

and Metis populations

*  Ability to work as a member of the CAMHU team

*  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

*  Excellent documentation/written skills

*  Knowledge of the local and regional children's mental health programs/resources

*  Ability to communicate in a First Nations language is considered an asset and therefore, preference will be given to

those applicants.

 

 

Salary Range:  $26.370 to 30.400
