                                                                 Assertive Community Treatment

 

 

 

 

It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event

you are successful.

 

 

 

Reporting to the Manager   Adult Mental Health Services, the Psychological Associate will be responsible for

providing a full scope of psychological services to clients with acute and chronic psychiatric illness within an acute

mental health inpatient unit. The Psychological Associate will conduct and/or supervise psychological assessments 

and provide individual and group psychological treatment within an adult and adolescent population. Treatment focus

will be brief models of therapy. The incumbent would also provide consultation to other members of the team as

required and contribute to the Health Sciences Centre's commitment to research and academics including providing

clinical supervision to learners.

 

Qualifications:

*  Documentation of registration or eligibility for registration as a Psychological Associate with the College of

Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) prior to commencing employment (required)

*  Able to obtain declared competency for Assessment/Evaluation and Intervention/Consultation in Clinical

Psychology for Adults

*  Demonstrated competencies in consultation and leadership in an interprofessional treatment team context in

healthcare

*  Evidence of prior practice in adult clinical psychology (preferred)

*  Experience providing CBT for psychosis counseling for individuals with serious mental illness (preferred)

*  Evidence of competency and innovation in treatment program design and evaluation of treatment outcomes

*  Ability to work flexibly in an interprofessional team setting, facilitate group sessions and work in an office/

community based setting

*  Demonstrated knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Health Care Consent Act and Substitute Decision Act

 

 

Salary Range:  $38.630 to 49.230
