TBRHSC's Decision Support group enables and encourages the pursuit of excellence by working closely with TBRHSC's senior leadership to facilitate problem solving, to identify improvement opportunities and to support operational and related analytic requirements.

Reporting to the Manager of Decision Support and Case Costing, the Case Costing Analyst (CC Analyst) is responsible for case costing preparation, quality review, problem solving, and file submission to the Ministry. The CC Analyst also works closely with the Decision Support Consultants on detailed financial and activity analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.

 

Education

*  Degree in Business Administration, Health Informatics, or Information Management.

*  Professional accounting designation (CPA ‑ CA, CPA ‑ CMA, CPA - CGA)

 

Experience

*  Overall, a minimum of 2 ‑ 4 years experience in experience in consulting, performance and data analysis,

preferably in a health‑related field.

 

Specific demonstrated experience in:

*  Proactively managing initiatives and/or processes to achieve desired outcomes.

*  Leading project teams full cycle from project initiation to project close.

 

Skills  (in addition to behavioural competencies identified above)

*  Effective communication, interpersonal & collaboration skills

*  Good problem solving and analytical skills.

*  Team player with the ability to influence and persuade

*  Proven ability to work with staff and leaders at all levels of a complex healthcare/service sector organization to

bring about improvement and achieve results

*  Ability to work with the multidisciplinary team

*  Superior skills in data management and manipulation using Excel (pivot tables, advanced filters, lookup functions,

develop of macros).

*  Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite Programs (Word, PowerPoint).

*  Ability to work independently, multitask and prioritize workload to meet various deadlines

 

Knowledge

*  Good business acumen

*  Working knowledge of the health care system

*  Working knowledge of Ontario Hospital Reporting/Management Information System standards and funding

methodologies (HBAM and QBP)

*  Working knowledge of Discharge Abstract Database (DAD), National Ambulatory Care Reporting System

(NACRS), and other large data sets (e.g. wait times)
