                                                                        Nursing Resource Team


                                                          This position has no set schedule, casual call‑ins




This position will involve working the Day, Evening, Night, Tour, Weekend shifts.  The shift is not to be interpreted as

a guarantee.



Reporting to the Manager of the Nursing Resource Team, you will be responsible for providing quality nursing care to

a patient population with predictable outcomes. As part of a multidisciplinary health care team, you will practice within

the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario, the Philosophy and Values of Nursing Services and the policies of

the Health Sciences Centre.


Applicants must have the following qualifications:

*  Current registration as a Registered Practical Nurse with the College of Nurses of Ontario

*  Recent Medical/Surgical/Mental Health or Women and Children Care experience

*  Current certification in BCLS

*  Completion of the Meditech Training Course in Order Entry

*  Completion of a recognized Assessment Course

*  Completion of a recognized Medication Administration Course


In addition, applicants must have skill and experience in the following elements of nursing practice:

*  Care planning, Team meetings and Patient Teaching

*  Assessment of vital signs including oxygen saturation monitoring and glucometer testing

*  Administration of medications

*  Urinary catheterization, bladder irrigation and ostomy care

*  Intravenous therapy including monitoring of the site and discontinuing the IV

*  Application and monitoring of restraints

*  Enteral nutrition including monitoring, changing bags and tubing, adding solution

*  Isolation techniques

*  Documentation on an electronic record

*  Wound care including dressings, drain shortening and removal, emptying, measuring and removal of drainage

devices and suture and staple removal



Salary Range:  $29.577 to 30.361
