Cardiac Cathlab & Recovery Room
It is a condition of this posting that your home unit can accommodate your temporary absence in the event
you are successful.
The Cardiac Cathlab provides acute cardiac care and diagnostic services for Northwestern Ontario residents.
Services include: ‑ Diagnostic catheterizations ‑ Coronary Angioplasty (PCI) ‑ Intra‑aortic Balloon Pump insertions ‑
Permanent Pacemaker Implantations ‑ Elective cardioversions
Applicants must possess the following skills, experience and qualifications:
* 2 years recent experience (or scrub/circulate for 500 cases during this period) in a cardiac catheterization
laboratory with significant PCI (angioplasty) experience
* critical assessment skills
* perform advanced Hemodynamic Monitoring calculations during procedures
* care and education of the cardiac patient pre‑procedure(s)
* post‑procedure rhythm monitoring, education and nursing care
Qualifications:
* Comfort working in a diagnostic radiation area and the physical ability to work in appropriate safety apparel
(lead aprons, collars, and glasses, etc)
* Advanced knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology
* Current BCLS certification
* IABP nursing certification
* Demonstrable knowledge of pacemaker theory and indications
* Recent certification in Defibrillation and Drug Therapy (Cardiac Arrest Response)
* I.V. Therapy Certification
* Training in advanced cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation (Lead II)
* Experience with hemodynamic monitoring techniques
* Excellent communications skills
* Positive attitude toward a multidisciplinary care approach
* Advance Cardiac Fellowships
* Ability to participate in on‑call duties (24/7) with a response time of less than 20 minutes
Salary Range: $33.230 to 47.570
