2 ‑ Part Time (.2) ‑ Porter

Central Patient Portering

 

This position will involve working the day, evening, weekend shifts. The shift is not to be interpreted as a guarantee.

 

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, the porter provides safe, efficient transportation of patients and MDRD

equipment or supplies within the Health Sciences Centre.

 

Qualifications:

* Grade 12 education or an equivalent combination of education and experience

* Related experience in a health care setting

* Previous customer service experience in a clinical setting

* Excellent communication and team work skills, and a proven eagerness to be part of a team

* Proven ability to perform well in an organized, efficient, and independent manner and the ability to work under

pressure

* Demonstrated knowledge of "Teletracking"

* Working knowledge of computer software and electronic devices

* Good verbal and written communication skills

* Excellent interpersonal/people skills (patient and family centred philosophy of care)

* Ability to work with minimal supervision

* Fluent in English

* Flexible in related duties

* Must be physically able to perform the essential duties of the job (ie. Heavy lifting and extensive walking).

 

 

Salary Range: $22.492 to 22.878
