Reporting to Pharmacy Manager with a matrix report for pharmacy practice to the Director, Health Professions &

Collaborative Practice, the Regional Pharmacy Lead will be responsible for delivering on a regional mandate related

to pharmacy services, as set by the regional Hospital CEOs and the Regional Pharmacy Steering Committee. The

Lead will work collaboratively with the EVP, Regional Transformation and Integration to fulfill this mandate.

 

The Regional Pharmacist Lead (RPL) is responsible for executing, at the regional level, continued implementation of

the National Association of Pharmacy Regulatory Authorities (NAPRA) standards for hazardous and non‑hazardous

sterile compounding, the Regional Pharmacy Program Feasibility Project Recommendations, organization of the

Regional Pharmacy Steering Committee meetings, and chair of the Regional Pharmacy Operational Committee. The

RPL works collaboratively with the regional hospital pharmacy departments and management, the Regional

Pharmacy Program (telepharmacy), LHIN, Ontario College of Pharmacists (OCP) and other stakeholders. The RPL

works closely with the Regional Pharmacy Program, local and regional partners, to champion and influence

person‑centered pharmacy system transformation and drive performance of the pharmacy system in the region.

 

Education

‑ Minimum Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.

- Certification with the Pharmacy Examining Board of Canada

‑ Must be a member in good standing and currently licesnsed as a Registered Pharmacist with the Ontario Collage of

Pharmacy

 

Experience

‑ Minimum 5 years of hospital pharmacy experience, ideally in an acute care hospital environment. 

‑ Previous leadership experience an asset

 

Skills (in addition to behavioural competencies identified above)

‑ Computer skills including Meditech, PCS, excel, Word documents an asset.

 

Knowledge 

‑ Regional Pharmacy operational processes

‑ Ontario College of Pharmacists Assessment Criteria and Legislation

‑ NAPRA sterile and non sterile compounding requirements

‑ Accreditation Canada Medication Management Standards

‑ Canadian Society of Hospital Pharmacists advocacy

 

 

Salary Range: $47.280 to 62.230
