Working closely with the Director and the Northern Supply Chain (NSC) team, and North East LHIN and North West

LHIN regional hospital members, the Manager, Strategic Sourcing plans, coordinates, and executes the project

deliverables required to meet and or exceed the Business Plan for the Northern Supply Chain Initiative.

 

The Manager, Strategic Sourcing plays a key role in scheduling and implementing the regional sourcing model which

focuses on, but is not limited to: developing progress reports, work plans, communication templates, briefing notes

for the Steering Committee as well as initiating and maintaining on‑going communications. This role also provides

guidance to both members and direct reports on the application of the Broader Public Sector (BPS) Directives and

other trade agreements that govern public sector procurement. The Manager, Strategic Sourcing also facilitates the

building of a comprehensive contract registry and a set of metrics that drive efficiencies and document performance

metrics.

 

Within the portfolio of the Manager, Strategic Sourcing is also the financial oversight of the NSC program, which

includes review of metrics and variance reporting, as well as program sustainability and budget planning. In addition,

the role also oversees the Data Management component of NSC, providing input and oversight into the various

reports that are presented to our members utilizing the GHX software.

 

It is a requirement of this role to support and maintain a proactive Supply Chain presence within the region, and

travel amongst the Member hospitals as required. On occasion, engagement and facilitation in complex sourcing

documents will be expected of this position.

 

Education

*   Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent related experience. Professional designation in Purchasing/Supply

Chain or other related discipline is preferred.

 

Experience

*   Minimum 3‑5 years project management experience, preferably with a background in Procurement, Information

Technology, and Financial Analysis.

 

Skills

*   Experience and proven ability to balance conflicting needs while ensuring Membership satisfaction.

*   Demonstrated success building and maintaining strong working relationships with all levels of management, staff

and customers

*   Ability to work effectively, both independently and in team environments.

*   Demonstrated evidence of flexibility, resilence and resourcefulness.

*   Excellent bilingual communication skills including both verbal and written. Demonstated success leading

presentations and meetings.

 

Knowledge

*   Experience with a variety of techniques and strategies in order to ensure both client satisfaction and NSC best

interests are achieved.

*   Knowledge of project management software applications/project tools and methodology.
