                                                               1 ‑ Full Time ‑ Absence Mgmt Lead

                                                                    Occupational Health & Safety


Working within an Interprofessional Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) team, the Absence Management Lead

implements the hospital's corporate strategy for supporting our employee health and realizing sustained reductions in

sick leave usage and costs. Under the general supervision of the Manager, Occupational Health and Safety, the

Absence Management Lead will be responsible for the maintenance of the corporate absence management strategy

and overall occupational health program.  Secondary responsibilities will include participation in Workplace Safety

and Insurance Board claims and non work related injury/illness claims management as designated. This role is key to

nurturing a workplace where all staff can thrive.


Employment Requirements

*   Unencumbered license with the College of Nurses of Ontario

*   Nursing experience with at least 5 years related to medical and surgical procedures and diagnosis with

demonstrated critical thinking skills

*   Excellent interpersonal skills are required

*   Certification and/or a diploma in Occupational Health Nursing is preferred

*   A Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred

*   Experience in Workplace Safety & Insurance Board Claims Management & Vocational Rehabilitation would be an


*   Proficient in the use of computers & current related software
