                                                                          1 ‑ Full Time ‑ Manager

                                                                                  Housekeeping

The Manager is responsible for organizing, planning and coordinating the day to day and long range operations of

the Housekeeping, Laundry, Linen and Portering Departments including waste management in accordance with

standards and guidelines with a particular focus on staffing, resource allocation and quality of service within the HSC. 

 

Employment Requirements

Education

*   Post secondary degree in a related field or related experience

*   Environmental Services degree, diploma or certificates are an asset.

 

Experience

*   3‑5 years Management/leadership experience

*   Housekeeping, Laundry or Portering experience is an asset

*   Experience working in a production environment is an asset

 

Skills  (in addition to behavioural competencies identified above)

*   Demonstrated commitment to the principles of Patient & Family Centred Care.

*   Demonstrated human resource management and leadership skills including performance management and team

development.

*   Ability to embrace and lead projects including change and improvement initiatives in a fast paced work

environment.

*   Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff, physicians and external customers.

*   Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

*   Demonstrated ability to handle conflict, demanding circumstances and multiple priorities.

*   Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Groupwise and Microsoft.

*   Experience resolving and investigating patient and staff safety reports

*   Proficient in the use of computer applications such as Groupwise

 

Knowledge 

*   Advanced knowledge and competency in relevant regulations and legislation inlcuding but not limited to:

*   Ministry of the Envioronment waste management standards preferred

*   Ministry of the Transporation transportation of dangerous goods standards preferred

*   Infection Control practices in the housekeeping setting

*   Occupational Health and Safety policies and practice.

*   Working mechanical knowledge preferred

*   Working knowledge of production envionment preferred
