About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)
is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

The Manager, Forensic Mental Health provides operational oversight for the Forensic Mental Health Secure Inpatient
Unit, all Forensic Mental Health Outpatient programs as well as the Mental Health Resource Team with a focus on
planning, implementing and managing these specialty departments.
Education & Experience:
*Unencumbered registration holding a current license with the College of Nurses of Ontario
*Baccalaureate degree in Nursing, Master's Degree preferred
*Minimum 5 years progressive clinical leadership experience
*Minimum 8 years clinical practice and experience in Mental Health is required
*Experience with provincial justice system is preferred
*Certification in Psychiatric/Mental Health Nursing is preferred
*Current NVCI certification is required

Knowledge:
*In depth knowledge of psychiatric clinical practice, team processes, security procedures, professional standards,
research activities and current trends and approached to treatment and rehabilitation of mental illness in order to
direct staff and to assess, implement and evaluate effective delivery of patient care services and operational needs
within an interprofessional milieu in an acute care setting
*In depth knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Regulated Health Professionals Act, Personal Health Protection Act,
Health Care Consent Act and other relevant legislation
*Knowledge of Collective Agreements, Occupational Health and Safety Act, hospital policies and procedures
*Change theory in order to act as a change agent to support quality initiatives in clinical practice and those mandated
within the program
*Knowledge of practice standards and guiding principles to foster professional practice and accountability
*Experience in the development of clinical guidelines and protocols, promoting the use of research and
evidence‑based practice to guide patient and family centered care is required
Salary Range: $60.310 to 75.380
