About the role:
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)

The Procurement Specialist reports to the Manager, Strategic Sourcing and Distribution and is responsible for
conducting low to medium complexity procurement activities / tasks, including managing the sourcing and contracting
process for goods and services with a procurement value generally less than $100,000. The Procurement Specialist
facilitates the Request for Goods and Services (RFx) process for goods, services and capital equipment while
working with a diverse portfolio mix to maximize value and to foster positive working relationships with departments,
clients and vendors. The Procurement Specialist will be a resource where necessary supporting the Contract
Procurement Specialist in the managing of larger / complex procurement activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Experience:
*Bachelor's Degree in business or related health sciences field
*2 years of experience in overall supply chain functions required, including buying using formal tendering processes.
*Strong working knowledge of applicable Buy Ontario Act and Broader Public Sector procurement directives, trade
agreements and public procurement requirements.
Skills/Abilities:
*Experience with computerized systems for purchasing, inventory management, distribution and control required.
*Demonstrated proficiency in computer applications and software
*Strong attention to detail
*Demonstrated high levels of initiative, resourcefulness, flexibility and adaptability
*Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to manage workload and adapt quickly to a fast‑paced,
dynamic work environment
*Demonstrated superior communication skills, oral and written
*Collaborative approach to problem solving with a solution driven focus
Assets:
*Experience working with HealthPro and/or Medbuy.
*Working knowledge and familiarity with healthcare environment
*Experience with an automated Purchasing/Finance software / systems
*Experience with online RFx software (i.e. Biddingo, Bonfire, Merx, etc.).
*SCMP or Public Procurement Designation
Salary Range: $40.270 to 50.340
